WHERE TO HEAR THEM

Salty De Vito will perform at Aubergine After Dark, 755 Petaluma Ave., Sebastopol, Friday, Nov. 11, 2011.
Cover is $8 at 9 p.m. and $10 after 10:30 p.m. Call the venue at 861-9190 for more information.

The Sonoma County band has played the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, the House of Blues in Hollywood and many other venues. After almost a year off, they are preparing to become a musical force in Sonoma County, as well as a national act.

Their debut album was recorded over the course of the last year at Prairie Sun Studios in Cotati.

Other members of the band are Jonathan Clegg, acoustic guitarist; Dane Steffy, electric guitarist; Lance Harrington, drummer; Chris Farrell, bass; and Marco Salvaggio, electric guitarist and pianist.

Clegg, who is also a songwriter and general manager of the band, says that the group was formed in Los Angeles, but by chance, all members are from Sonoma County. “Individually, we were all trying to pursue entertainment careers in L.A., but now we find ourselves back in our home county, releasing our first album and starting a record company called Pengroove Records, deriving from the town of Penngrove's name.”

Clegg is a native of Petaluma.
