A member of the Navy Air-Corp during World War II, Rollie A. Leeburg was stationed in Japan.
A longtime Petaluma resident and retired teacher, Mr. Leeburg died on Sept. 24, 2012 at the age of 88.
Mr. Leeburg met his wife, Shirley, through the USO in San Francisco. They were married in 1947 and moved to Petaluma in 1953 where he taught business at Petaluma High School until his retirement in 1983.
He was an avid 49er fan, active in Sons in Retirement, and involved with his local church, Elim Lutheran.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Leeburg; children, Rod Leeburg of Sonoma, Lori Leeburg of Rohnert Park, and Karen Smith of Hayward; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 at Elim Lutheran Church, 504 Baker St.
