A Marin County man reported missing by his wife after he failed to return home from his job of delivering papers in Napa County, was found injured but alive Tuesday morning off of Porter Creek Road in Sonoma County.
William Simpson, 75, of San Rafael spent the night in his car after he lost control of the vehicle on his way to Calistoga and ran off the roadway and down a steep embankment.
After spending the night in his vehicle, Simpson was able to walk to a private road and flag down a passing motorist Tuesday morning.
He was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major, but non-life threatening injuries.
