Petaluma boys win one of three in Ukiah Tournament

Petaluma High School’s boys basketball team officially began the John Behrs coaching era with three games in Ukiah High’s Schools Fred Iten Tournament last weekend. The Trojans were 1-2 in the tournament, sandwiching a win over Fort Bragg between loses to Ukiah and Fortuna.
Petaluma opened its season with a 68-46 loss to host Ukiah. Returning senior Clay Swanson carried the Petaluma scoring load with 26 points.
The Trojans bounced back to record their first win for Behrs, defeating Fort Bragg, 36-28, with Swanson scoring 13.
Petaluma then lost in the consolation finals to Fortuna, 65-48. Eric Hunsicker and Joseph Lynch led Petaluma with 10 points apiece.
Swanson was named to the all-tournament team.
