Man robs Petaluma gas station

<p>Hiding his face with a hood, a man acting like he had a gun in his pocket robbed a Petaluma gas station late Sunday night, reported Petaluma police Monday.</p><p>The man in a black hooded winter jacket walked into the Shell gas station on Washington Street just before 10:40 p.m.</p><p>He told a clerk to give him money from the register and acted like he had a gun in his pocket, although no weapon was seen, said Sgt. Ed Crosby.</p><p>When the clerk opened the register drawer, the robber reached over and pulled out the cash, then left the station.</p><p>He was last seen walking from the Washington and Howard Street intersection toward downtown, said Crosby.</p><p>Police were called at 10:39 p.m. Officers searched the downtown area, including alleys, bars and a parking garage, but there was no sign of the man. Crosby said it was possible he may have had a car waiting nearby.</p><p>Details on the robber's features were limited, but the clerk estimated the man was about 175 pounds and 5-foot-8.</p><p>Crosby asked anyone with information about the crime to contact Officer Aaron Lindh at (707) 778-4372.</p><p>All rights reserved.
