Petaluma police are searching for a driver suspected of striking and injuring a bicyclist in a reported hit and run Thursday night.
Police said a 23-year-old man was riding his bicycle in the area of East Washington and Lakeville streets at about 9:15 p.m. Thursday when his rear tire was hit by a car and he was knocked to the ground.
The man suffered injuries to his face and was treated and released from Kaiser Medical Center in Santa Rosa.
The car involved in the collision, described as a dark colored four-door sedan, fled the scene, police said.
Police have asked anyone who saw the incident to call Officer Mario Giomi, 778-4372.
