New county clerk-elections chief sworn in

Bill Rousseau, Sonoma County's incoming clerk-recorder-assessor and registrar of voters, was sworn in Monday at the county office by his predecessor Janice Atkinson.

Rousseau, 55, the county's longtime chief deputy assessor, was appointed to fill the remaining two years of Atkinson's second term in the elected post.

Atkinson, 58, is retiring as one of the longest-serving county employees, having started her career in 1972.
