North Coast crab boats idle for 6th day in price dispute

SAN FRANCISCO — Dungeness crab boats in the fishing ports of San Francisco, Half Moon Bay and Bodega Bay are idle for a sixth day because of a price dispute.
Crab Boat Owners Association president Larry Collins says skippers are meeting Monday to discuss the strike that began last Wednesday.
The San Francisco Chronicle (http://bit.ly/YSyt5X ) says the strike was called because crabbers learned fish brokers planned to cut prices of fresh crab from a previously agreed $3-a-pound to $2.75 or less because of slowing demand.
A price dispute last year delayed crab fishing by weeks.
