Sonoma County's Avoid the 13 anti-DUI task force plans two DUI/license checkpoints on Friday night in Petaluma.
The locations aren't being disclosed by the task force, in which all of the county's police agencies participate, but they'll be from 7 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday.
The checkpoints are part of a more than two-week campaign by the Avoid the 13 to try to prevent DUI-related crashes, to deter drunken driving and to arrest those who drink and drive anyway.
Since the extra enforcement started Dec. 14, 43 drivers have been arrested on DUI charges. One person was injured in a DUI collision on Dec. 14.
