The Petaluma Fire Department received 29 medical and 72 fire or other emergency calls from Dec. 24 through Dec. 30. Then, from Dec. 31 through Jan 6, it received 29 medical and 64 fire or other emergency calls. Here are some of the incidents:
Friday, Jan. 4
3:46 p.m. — Units headed to 1172 Baywood Drive for a fire at an apartment complex. A pan got too hot when a resident left it heating.
Thursday, Jan. 3
10:59 a.m. — Firefighters were called to 5153 Old Redwood Highway for a vehicle accident.
Friday, Dec. 28
10:59 a.m. — Units headed to 2015 Crinella Drive for a report of a building fire reported by the alarm company. A single family dwelling, with nobody home, had smoke coming out the top of the chimney. A firefighter entered the house through a window and determined there was light smoke. The problem appeared to be with the wood burning stove. They extinguished it.
Thursday, Dec. 27
1:04 p.m. — Firefighters were called out to Lakeville Highway for a report of an accident north of Sleepy Hollow Dairy. A single truck was off to the side of the road, having crashed through multiple fences and ended up in a vineyard. The patient had been removed from the truck by bystanders when firefighters arrived, He was taken to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital trauma center.
Tuesday, Dec. 25
11 a.m. — Firefighters were called out to Western Ave. for a passenger vehicle fire. They found a blaze in the engine compartment and extinguished it. The fire appeared to have started in the area of the battery.
