Trojans slay Dragons for second SCL win

Petaluma High School's varsity basketball Trojans jumped out to an early lead and romped to their second Sonoma County League win of the season Friday night, shooting down Sonoma Valley's Dragons, 61-44.
Petaluma's tenacious defense held Sonoma to just 15 points in the first half, as the Trojans built a 29-15 lead.
Sonoma Valley battled back in the second half, going on a 9-3 run before the Trojans again solidified their lead.
The game was rugged, with 39 fouls whistled before it was over.
The Trojans, deadly at the foul line, finished off their win with a 23-point fourth period.
Noah Forrey continued his recent streak of good games with 13 points for the Trojans, while Jaymes Potts enjoyed one of his top scoring games with 12.
Petaluma finished the first round of SCL play with a 2-4 record, with three of its league losses by seven points or less.
Petaluma hosts Piner Friday night.
Petaluma's junior varsity continued to wade through SCL competition with their sixth straight win, a 60-42 victory over the Sonoma Valley JVs.
