A 22-year-old Corona man who lost control of a car while speeding through a roundabout was arrested Sunday on suspicion of drunken driving, Petaluma police officials said.
Officers estimate Kevin Williams was traveling at about 50 mph at 1:05 p.m. when he entered the roundabout on Petaluma Boulevard South at Crystal Lane, Corporal Brian Miller said. The recommended roundabout speed is 15 mph.
Williams lost control of the Kia sedan, hit a curb, crashed into a traffic sign and drove over a median before finally stopping in the center of the roundabout, Miller said.
A preliminary test showed Williams' blood-alcohol content was above the legal limit of 0.08 percent, Miller said. Williams and a passenger were uninjured.
Williams was not at the Sonoma County Jail late Sunday, jail staff said.
