Petaluma police Thursday were investigating a report that a man exposed himself to a 14-year-old girl walking home from school.
The encounter occurred at about 3:15 p.m. on Catalpa Way near Baywood Drive, Sgt. Ralph Evans said.
A man in a light blue or green car, possibly a Honda or Toyota, pulled up alongside the girl and called out to her before exposing himself, Evans said.
Then he drove away.
He was described as a Hispanic man between 20 and 30 years old with short black hair and a mustache, Evans said.
Officers searched the area but did not find a person matching that description, Evans said.
Anyone with information about the case can call Officer Matt Frick at 778-4372.
