A man who robbed a Middletown bank Thursday may be the same person who has targeted several North Bay banks recently, authorities said.
The suspect in Thursday's robbery at about 3:30 p.m. asked a teller at Westamerica Bank to make change for a $100 bill. He then handed the teller a note that demanded money and warned that he was armed.
After being given an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect walked out of the bank. He still was being sought Thursday night.
The suspect fit the description of a man who asked a teller at Tri Counties Bank in Middletown to make change for him about an hour prior to the robbery at Westamerica.
He was described as white, approximately 5 feet 9, with a stocky build and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black baseball hat and sunglasses.
