The second of three suspects arrested out of state in a Feb. 5 triple homicide near Forestville has arrived at the Sonoma County Jail and will appear in court Thursday, jail personnel said.
Odin Leonard Dwyer, 38, was extradited from the Denver, Colo., area and booked into the local jail about 5 p.m. Tuesday, a week after Sonoma County sheriff's deputies picked him up on an arrest warrant at a residence on the outskirts of Denver, authorities said.
Dwyer' and his father, Francis R. Dwyer, of New Mexico, are believed to have driven to Sonoma County in tandem with suspected gunman Mark William Cappello, also a Colorado resident, in advance of what some involved thought was to be a marijuana sale at a private home on Ross Station Road.
Instead, gunfire erupted. Cappello's charges include special circumstances for lying in wait and murder for financial gain, suggesting he intended to rob the victims - Sebastopol native Raleigh Butler, 24, Richard Lewin, 46, of Huntington, N.Y., and Todd Klarkowski, 42, of Boulder, Colo.
Investigators said Klarkowski and Lewin had previously partnered in interstate marijuana sales, and that Cappello was an associate of Klarkowski, who brought him into the deal. Cappello, in turn, knew Odin Dwyer and involved him and his father, sheriff's Lt. Dennis O"Leary said.
The younger Dwyer was arrested on three counts of suspected murder and is being held at the Sonoma County Jail on $250,000 bail, jail personnel said..
He is to appear in court on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
Dwyer's father was taken into custody at an RV Park in Truth or Consequences, N.M., last week and remained on the inmate roster Wednesday morning at the Sierra County Detention Center in Truth or Consequences..
It was unclear when he will be moved to Sonoma County.
