Searchers found a missing mushroom hunter Tuesday in the Fort Bragg area after the man had spent the night lost in the woods.
Jamie Manuel Alonso, 61, of Fort Bragg was last seen about 1 p.m. Monday. His son dropped him off near Chamberlain Creek fire camp, Mendocino County sheriff's Sgt. Jason Caudillo reported.
Alonso was expected to gather mushrooms and then meet his son at 4 p.m. near Road 200 off of Highway 20.
Alonso never showed up and family members contacted sheriff's officials around 7:30 p.m.
Deputies searched the area until after dark but were unable to find him.
A rescue team with a bloodhound returned Tuesday morning and found him around 10:15 a.m. in good health and spirits after spending a night in the woods, Caudillo said.
