A 64-year-old Clearlake man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of molesting more than one child over several decades.
Daniel Brazil Sr. was taken into custody on a felony warrant issued by Lake County Superior Court. Charges included three counts of committing lewd and lascivious acts on a child and two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Bail was set at $550,000.
The investigation began last June when allegations against Brazil were made to Clearlake police.
Detective Ryan Peterson spent months interviewing victims, who were young children at the time of the assaults. Peterson also interviewed witnesses, relatives and out-of-state law enforcement officers.
Police did not reveal how many victims were involved in the charges made public Thursday. But they maintained the alleged acts took place over several decades and there may be other victims.
Police asked those with information regarding the case to contact Peterson at 994-8251, ext. 320.
