A 57-year-old Portland man was arrested Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of waving a loaded pistol from the window of his car parked at Pacific Market in Sebastopol.

Warren Eugene Thompson was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on charges of brandishing a firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Other charges included possession of a loaded firearm in public, possession of a concealed firearm in public and being drunk in public.

A Pacific Market worker notified police at about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday that a man was pointing a handgun out a car window into "the crowded parking lot."

Officers responded and arrested Thompson. In the vehicle, officers found a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol, officials said.

Bail was set at $85,000, according to Sebastopol police.
