A Lakeport woman was arrested early Saturday morning after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase along the north shore of Clear Lake.
Laurie Louise Cipriani, 38, was eventually stopped on southbound Highway 29 and arrested on multiple charges.
The chase began about 3 a.m. when two California Highway Patrol officers were alerted to a possible intoxicated driver heading to Lakeport from Mendocino County on Highway 20.
The two responding officers reported seeing a 2000 Ford Expedition speeding south on Highway 29, just south of the Highway 20 intersection.
The vehicle sped away from the officers, reaching speeds over 90 mph near the Nice-Lucerne Cuttoff, where officers attempted to make a stop, the CHP reported.
The vehicle continued south on Highway 29 before pulling over near the Park Way off-ramp.
Cipriani was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, felony evading and reckless driving. Drugs were also located inside the vehicle, officers reported.
