A confrontation at a southeast Petaluma home ended with the arrest of a Novato woman suspected of assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and resisting arrest, Petaluma police said Monday.
Chatpet Dumrongkitkaset, 51, went to the Adobe Creek home of a former boyfriend where the confrontation occurred late Saturday morning, said Petaluma Lt. Tim Lyons.
Lyons said the woman repeatedly pounded on the front door, demanding entry.
When the 71-year-old resident began to open the door the force of her pushing on it caught the man, who slipped on a rug and hit his head on a hardwood floor, said Lyons.
The suspect then chased a 63-year-old woman upstairs. The woman locked herself in a bathroom and phoned police while the suspect stayed outside the door allegedly threatening her.
Arriving police officers found the woman upstairs, outside the bathroom door. She resisted arrest, Lyons said, and officers forced her to ground and handcuffed her.
Dumrongkitkaset was released from the Sonoma County Jail after posting bail, according to jail records.
Paramedics treated the man for the head injury, Lyons said.
