Six Sonoma County residents have applied to fill the Sonoma County Junior College Board of Trustees position left vacant by the resignation of Petaluman Onita Pellegrini, trustee for Area 2. The application period closed last week.
The applicants are Kathleen Doyle, Margaret Howes Fishman, Richard Hull, Lex McCorvey, Kathryn Peyton and Tiffany Renée.
The Area 2 trustee will represent all South County communities, including Petaluma, Penngrove and communities in northern Marin County. Applicants must reside within the trustee area.
The board of trustees will hold interviews for the six applicants at an open special board meeting to be held Feb. 20 in the Doyle Library on the Santa Rosa Campus.
In the event that the board does not reach a decision on Feb. 20, action may be taken at the next regular Board of Trustees meeting on March 11 or at another special meeting called by the board. The new trustee will serve the remainder of Pellegrini's term through November.
Pellegrini announced her resignation, effective Jan. 15, resulting in the board opening.
